No More Adidas - Sao Paulo Announce New Balance Kit Deal
Update: New Balance have officially signed a contract with São Paulo FC, starting from January 2024 and running until December 2027. The first Sao Paulo New Balance kits will be already unveiled in January.
New Balance will also deliver player versions of the jerseys to the club, which was not the case with Adidas.
Under the agreement, São Paulo will be the only football club in the country to have their uniform manufactured by New Balance. The partnership also includes plans for the production of pieces specifically for São Paulo fans.
Further details about this new partnership between São Paulo and New Balance will be revealed in the coming months.
Update: Various local media are reporting that São Paulo FC are set to announce their kit deal with New Balance, replacing Adidas, soon, confirming the earlier report by Mantos do Futebol.
New Balance will become Sao Paulo's new kit manufacturer from 2024 onwards, according to Mantos do Futebol.
Sao Paulo to Leave Adidas for New Balance
Brazilian club Sao Paulo are to leave current kit makers Adidas to sign on with New Balance from next year onwards. The deal has not yet been officially announced, but Mantos do Futebol have it on good authority from sources close to the negotiations that an agreement is soon to be reached.
Sao Paulo are said to be unhappy with their treatment by Adidas, and believe that they deserve greater global distribution of their gear in accordance with their status as one of Brazil's biggest clubs. There have been problems since the start of the partnership in 2018, as the club apparently haven't received authentic kits, only replicas for match use. The club also apparently believe they should be in Adidas top tier of "elite" clubs, a group which includes their compatriots, Flamengo.

Should the deal go through, Sao Paulo would become NB's second club in Brazil, joining Red bull Bragantino. As well as Flamengo, Adidas also currently sponsor Cruzeiro, Internacional and Atlético Mineiro.
Would this be a good deal for Sao Paulo? Would NB make decent kits for them? Comment below.
