Virgin Wines Ruins Lincoln City Home Shirt
Take a look at the sponsored 21-22 home shirt of Lincoln City.
Despite also being red, the large Virgin Wines square still manage to look off on the shirt. The shade of red isn't matching plus the large square making it appear to be like a sticker rather than a print.
CEO of Virgin Wines, Jay Wright, who is also club's Vice Chairman said: “As both Vice Chairman of Lincoln City and CEO of Virgin Wines it gives me great pleasure and pride to be able to see the Virgin Wines brand associated with this fantastic football Club. I know this will be a rewarding and successful partnership and we look forward to developing the relationship even further over time.”
Meanwhile, Lincoln City Director of Commercial Affairs, Andrew Whitham commented on the partnership: “We are thrilled to have developed this new partnership with Virgin Wines. This partnership with a fast-growing and ambitious national brand will deliver fantastic benefits for the football club, supporters and for Virgin Wines.
As stated in the club's statement, over the course the 21-22 season, there will be five different sponsors to appear on their shirt. It remains to be seen whether the next one will look better than the first attempt.
Lincoln City still offer fans the chance to buy a non-sponsored shirt, which is actually quite a smart move. Although the fans will still have to watch their players wearing the sponsored ones.
