FAKE - How Unlicensed Teams Look In FIFA & PES - Kits, Logos & More

When it was revealed that Italian giants Juventus would be not licensed in FIFA 20 and therefore be known as 'Piemonte Calcio', fans of the video game were shocked. In today's article, we want to compare how FIFA and PES deal with teams they do not have a license for.

First, it has to be said that FIFA 20 has much, much less teams unlicensed than PES. In fact, there are only very few teams that EA Sports has not in the game rightly due to their exclusive partnership with Konami's PES - most famously Juventus and Brazilian teams.

Fake Teams / Leagues in FIFA 20

In FIFA 20, the by far most important missing "official team" is Juventus, who are known as Piemonte Calcio. Juventus therefore comes with fake kits, stadium and logo but with real real players.

However, what might be the worst for FIFA 20 players, especially for those from Brazil, is that Brazilian teams in FIFA 20 come generic players.

Some old FIFA's had a fake Serie A logo

Fake Teams / Leagues in PES 2020

In Pro Evolution Soccer, there are many fake teams - most importantly, almost all clubs of the English Premier League and Spanish La Liga are fake (those leagues are just called "English League" and "Spanish League"). What might be the wortst license aspect of PES 2020 is that they not have any Bundesliga teams except FC Bayern, Schalke and Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

However, while Pro Evolution Soccer is definitively strongly inferior to FIFA 20 in terms of licenses, Konami's video game has the better graphics, especially in terms of player faces.
