FC Bayern and FC St. Pauli to Wear Special Anti-Racism Kit Editions
- Special Jerseys: FC Bayern and FC St. Pauli will wear special edition jerseys with anti-racism messages instead of sponsor logos during their upcoming match.
- Charitable Action: Bayern will auction off their match-worn shirts to benefit organizations fighting discrimination, while St. Pauli special edition jersey will be available starting Friday, March 28th
- Broader Initiative: The special jerseys are part of a broader campaign to combat racism, with additional support coming from FC Bayern's women's team and basketball team.
This Saturday's Bundesliga clash between FC Bayern Munich and FC St. Pauli will showcase both clubs' commitment to fighting discrimination through special edition jerseys that replace traditional sponsor logos with powerful anti-racism messages.
FC Bayern and FC St. Pauli Unite Against Racism with Special Match Jerseys
FC Bayern will wear its off-white third kit featuring "Rot Gegen Rassismus" (Red Against Racism) across the chest, with main sponsor Deutsche Telekom in small below to support the five-year-old initiative against discrimination to take center stage. Meanwhile, FC St. Pauli will sport a special all-brown version emblazoned with "Kein Platz für Rassismus" (No Place for Racism) in collaboration with its sponsors congstar.
The St. Pauli special edition jersey will be available starting Friday, March 28th, whereas Bayern's matchworn shirts will be auctioned off with proceeds going to organizations that campaign for diversity and against discrimination.
The special jerseys are part of the International Weeks against Racism and the DFL matchday campaign "Together! Stop Hate. Be a Team."
FC Bayern's initiative extends beyond the first team, with the women's team dedicating its home match against Leverkusen on Sunday to the "Red Against Racism" theme, and the basketball team displaying the slogan on its shooting shirts for the remainder of the season.
St. Pauli makes the kits available to buy regularly, while Bayern will only auction off the matchworn kits
"With 'Red against Racism', we at FC Bayern regularly take a stand against all forms of discrimination and want to bring about a lasting debate on the topic of diversity," said FC Bayern president Herbert Hainer. "We're delighted about the joint campaign with FC St. Pauli, because it's important that we all work together to raise awareness of issues such as racism and diversity - regardless of which club we belong to."
The match will feature additional awareness elements including warm-up shirts, a special captain's armband, corner flags, a center-circle banner, and LED pitchside messaging. The clubs have adopted the shared motto for the match: "Two clubs - one stance."
