Fan protests against "jersey experiments" are not new. This season saw banners at games and displays advocating for the club’s traditional identity, including the famous demand: “A stadium in red, a team in red and white! End kit experiments - keep your promises.”
In 2018, Bayern already introduced a kit rule that allows the kit to feature red and white only - the club has stretched this rule enormously.
