PSV's Johan Bakayoko Pictured Wearing Shirt With Wrong Champions League Badge on Official UEFA Account
- Incorrect Badge: UEFA posted an official photo of PSV's Johan Bakayoko wearing a jersey with the old Champions League sleeve badge, despite a recent update to the logo.
- Badge Differences: The new badge features a thin black border around the circle and lacks a subtle 3D effect on the stars, compared to the old one.
- Widespread Issue: The error wasn't isolated to Bakayoko's picture, as the same wrong logo appeared in other official PSV Champions League images.
A while back we reported on the "minimal upgrade" of the official UEFA Champions League sleeve badges this season.
With the competition returning this week, UEFA has shared a series of official pictures and something curious stood out to our follower chraibi_btw. The old, wrong logo appears on the right sleeve of the jersey worn by PSV's Johan Bakayoko.
There are two main differences between the old and new sleeve badges, which can be observed when comparing the logo on Bakayoko's picture with the one on Karim Adeyemi's. There is now a thin black border around the circle, while a subtle 3D effect on the stars is no longer there.
Either way, the changes are very small which might explain this oversight from PSV and UEFA. PSV play at Juventus tomorrow and we will keep an eye on their kits to see if they will also use the wrong logo in the match. Bakayoko's is not a one-off mistake as the same can be observed on other PSV Champions League pictures.
