Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz made headlines recently after wearing the Arsenal 1994-96 Nike kit during a match with tennis friends. However, the kit he wore was not real.

Alcaraz Wears Counterfeit Arsenal 1994-96 Nike Kit

The Nike Arsenal 1994-96 kit worn by Alcaraz, which had Bergkamp's name on the back, was noticeably different from the original due to the collar (see the white stripe at the front which has a gap in the original kit) and crest.

Alcaraz gets around 1 million euro from Nike per year, reportedly

What makes Alcaraz wearing a fake kit particularly strange is that Alcaraz has a Nike deal worth around £1m a year and has been associated with the brand since 2015. Nike is even considering his own special collection.

Alcaraz might only have borrowed the red shirt

It is not known if it was Alcaraz's own shirt or if he just borrowed it from a friend. Alcaraz's team wore different red "makeshift" to have a contrast to their white opponenents.
