The new Peñarol 132-year anniversary shirt pays tribute to legendary goalkeeper Ladislao Mazurkiewicz, one of the greatest players in Peñarol and Uruguayan football. That is why Ladislao Mazurkiewicz's face appears in a small corner of the shirt.
The back of the Peñarol 132-year anniversary football shirt features the number 1 (Ladislao Mazurkiewicz's shirt number) and the number 987' near the collar. The number 987 refers to the 987 minutes of clean sheets (11 matches) achieved by Mazurkiewicz in 1967.
