Gorgeous Italy and Jamaica Themed Adidas Copa Mundials

Sam Handy - who works for Adidas' product marketing and design department - shared a couple of beautiful Copa Mundial colourways, taking cues from two of Adidas new national teams, Italy and Jamaica. Unfortunately however, they won't be going on general sale.

Jamaica and Italy Adidas Copa Mundial

Adidas' famous Copa Mundial boot is the longest running boot silo on the market. Known for it's quality and simplicity, it's most recognisable by its timeless black and white colour scheme. Experimentation with brighter colours has been extremely limited since their inception, with many agreeing that's how it should be. That said, there could be a case made for the odd exception to the rule.

2014 saw the boot given a range of vivid paintjobs for the Samba pack, tying in with the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Sam Handy, who works for Adidas in the product marketing and design department, shared a couple of photos recently that bring together a couple of Adidas' newly-signed national teams and their heritage boot. He showed off an Italy themed Copa with a blue leather upper and tricolour stripes, as well as a Jamaican colourway featuring a yellow upper with green and black stripes. Each boot has a white soleplate.

These colourways are strongly symbolic of both Jamaica and Italy, and the Copa Mundial is an icon of the sport. Their combination results in a beautiful embodiment of national identity and sporting culture. Both boots would surely be hugely popular if they were made available to the public, but sadly it seems that won't be the case. Posting on instagram, Handy described the boots as "prototype" and "sample only" versions respectively.

What do you think of these Adidas prototype boots? Would you like them to release a line of colourways representing their national teams? Comment below.
