Could Red Bull Change Home Kit Colors For Leipzig, Salzburg & RB Bragatino?

Red Bull have taken over several football teams across the world, including Leipzig, New York Red Bulls, Salzburg, and RB Bragantino, and have had significant successes in the sport. However, fans have criticized the company for its "boring, streamlined brandings" for all teams, which is one reason for their dissatisfaction. But this could change.

Red Bull's construct also includes some farm teams. In total, there are 7 "different" Red Bull teams.

Red Bull Says Goodbye to Boring Designs For US Market

There are some indicators that all of Red Bull's football teams may soon have a new look. However, it is most likely that the change will not apply to all Red Bull football teams worldwide but only those in the USA, where the company's recent move in the Formula 1 industry and the MLS suggests that a change may be coming.

Red Bull's change for the US market might be marketing only again

Formula 1 - Livery Design Competition

Red Bull are running a "Make Your Mark" competition for fans to design a livery concept for the RB19 driven by Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez ahead of the three races held in the United States this year. The team's car will have a distinct look every time they head across the pond this campaign, and the winner of the Miami livery competition will get their artwork painted onto the 2023 car, which was unveiled some weeks ago.

Meanwhile, the standard Red Bulls 2023 Formula 1 livery looks typical of Red Bull and very similar to those from past years, with the navy being almost black as the possibly most interesting element.

Football - New York Red Bulls Change Home Kit Colors

The New York Red Bulls have unveiled their 2023 and 2024 home kit, which is light yellow instead of the usual white and red, marking a departure from the team's traditional look.

Will Puma bring major change to Leipzig?

This move has prompted speculation that Red Bull's football teams could soon follow suit and adopt new kits that are distinct from the current streamlined designs. We have no info on the new 2023-2024 kits of Leipzig, Salzburg, and RB Bragantino but we do not expect them to ditch the white and red.

Interestingly, Red Bull are not relying on the same kit supplier for their football teams. Instead, Red Bulls' teams are sponsored by Adidas (New York Red Bulls - leaguewide deal), Nike (Salzburg and Leipzig) as well as New Balance (Bragantino).

The RB Leipzig football team will switch to Puma for the 2024-2025 season. It will be interesting to see how Puma treat Leipzig, and if they will have a say against the streamlined colors of the home kits.

Our Verdict - No Change For Teams Outside USA Likely In 2023

We do not believe that Red Bull will change the colors of their non-US clubs - Leipzig, New York Red Bulls, Salzburg and RB Bragantino - in the near future. Instead, we think that this change is again just marketing, with surveys could have found out that a majority of consumers in the United States do not like Red Bull's boring approaches.

We have no info on the new 2023-2024 kits of Leipzig, Salzburg, and RB Bragantino

At least, all these changes signal a willingness on the part of Red Bull to try new things and move away from a one-size-fits-all branding approach.
