Incredible Kappa SSC Bari Special Kit + Collection Debuted - Designed by LC23

Update: SSC Bari wore their special edition kit designed by Leo Colacicco for the first time on Sunday in their Serie C match against Fidelis Andria. The game wasn't befitting of the shirt unfortunately and finished in a 0-0 draw.

Bari Debut Octopus Kit

The kit worn by the players featured two sponsor logos on the chest area that were not inlcuded on the shirts in the launch photos.

Update: The limited-edition Bari x LC23 kit and whole collection went on sale this morning. The kits and most other products are already sold out. We have added better pictures of all the items.

SSC Bari have unveiled what is probably the best special edition kit and collection of the season in collaboration with Kappa and local designer Leo Colacicco. A goalkeeper and an outfield shirt, two pre-match jerseys, a tracksuit, a t-shirt, a polo, a ball and a cap make up the limited edition run, paying homage to the city and the club. Bari will wear the kit in Sunday’s Serie C derby against Fidelis Andria at the Stadio San Nicola.

SSC Bari x Kappa x LC23 Collection

Bari had some stunning Adidas kits in their 90s Serie A heyday, but recently have been receiving some fairly standard efforts from Kappa. These new pieces, created by Leo Colacicco via his brand LC23, have brought an end to that mundanity with their mixture of references to club and local culture, bold patterns and excellent use of some classic Kappa design features.

An octopus theme is present throughout, with the shirts featuring a tentacle graphic print. The octopus is recognized as a symbol of the Adriatic city of Bari. “La Bari” text is seen on all of the pieces, the name of the team before a change in the 1970s - and which is still used today by diehard fans. A simplified version of the club crest has been chosen, with just the black and red cockerel’s head appearing on the garments, a nod to their old 90s badge which was famously designed by Piero Gratton, the man responsible for Roma’s Lupetto badge.

Outfield Shirt

The outfield jersey features red and white stripes with an octopus tentacle motif all over. A 90s Kappa design with Omini taping down the sleeves gives the shirt a retro feel, and a black polo collar with a black panel across the opening with the “La Bari” text complements the main colours perfectly. Black shorts and red and white hooped socks with “La Bari” text complete the kit.

Goalkeeper Shirt

The goalkeeper shirt has a turquoise colour, like that of the Adriatic sea that surrounds Bari. The tentacle motif is more evident here thanks to the colours used, while the template of the kit is the same as that of the home shirt, with white used for the collar instead of black.

Pre-Match Shirt #2

Both pre-match shirts are identical in terms of design, again using the octopus motif, with “La Bari” text taking centre stage in the space usually reserved for a sponsor logo. The pattern is more visible on the pink shirt while the white one comes across as more subtle. The shirts have a round-neck collar.

Tracksuit

A black tracksuit with white and red trim is one of the more reserved pieces from the collection. Based on a standard Kappa design. “La Bari” is written on the back in white text.
