Marseille Close to Agreeing Deal With Cazoo
Marseille fans will no doubt be happy to see the back of Uber Eats, as it is not too difficult to imagine the kind of jokes that have been made about the club having a fast food delivery service printed on their jerseys for the last three seasons.
Uber Eats have been OM’s main shirt sponsor since the 19-20 season, with the highpoint (or lowpoint, depending on how you look at it) of the partnership being the release of “Faim d’Europe” in October 2020, a song referencing the club’s hunger and reputation by local rappers l’Algerino and Alonzo. The video features the two lyricists in the changing rooms with Dmitri Payet and co, packing kebabs into an Uber Eats delivery bag.
Cazoo’s deal with Everton will also finish at the end of the season, so it’s not surprising that they’re looking for another club to sponsor.
L’Équipe say that talks between the French club and the English used car website are at an advanced stage after negotiations between OM and Uber Eats in 2021 did not go very smoothly.
