After 4 Years | Flamengo Finally Wear Authentic Kits Again
The players of Brazilian top club CR Flamengo finally get the kits from Adidas they deserve.
Flamengo Debut 22-23 Home Kit - Wear Authentic Kits For First Time Since 2018
In Sunday's 2022 Supercopa do Brasil match against Atlético Mineiro, Flamengo debuted their new 2022-2023 home shirt. But not only that - they also did wear the authentic version. While this is usually nothing special for a top team, for Flamengo it is.
Flamengo players have been using the fan/replica version of the shirt ("store shirt") in games since 2018 (via Flamengo account @PaparazzoRN).
Flamengo's old kit was available in Adidas' own store, but the players did not get it
It is not known why Flamengo did not wear the player issue kits previously. In fact, the old Flamengo 21-22 home kit was even available to buy in the authentic version in Adidas' own store.
Adidas' HEAT.RDY material is especially good in hot and wet weather conditions
There are various differences between replica and authentic kits. The three most important differences are the material (HEAT.RDY [authentic] vs AEROREADY [replica]), the cut (curved hem vs relaxed), and the logos (heat-sealed vs stitched).
