Schalke 21-22 Third Kit Released - Last-Ever By Umbro Before Adidas Takeover

Schalke's new 21-22 third shirt was released today. Inspired by the first colors of the club, it is made by Umbro and will be worn in the 2. Bundesliga campaign.

Schalke 04 was founded on 4 May 1904 as Westfalia Schalke. In 1912, they merged with the gymnastic club Schalker Turnverein 1877 in order to facilitate their entry in early official German football. This arrangement held up until 1915, when SV Westfalia Schalke was re-established as an independent club. The separation proved short-lived and the two came together again in 1919 as Turn- und Sportverein Schalke 1877.

In 1928, the popular club built a new stadium, the Glückauf-Kampfbahn, in 1928, and acknowledged the city's support by renaming themselves FC Gelsenkirchen-Schalke 04 - their name until today.

Inspired by the founding colors of the club, yellow and red, the Umbro Schalke 2021-22 third jersey is mainly dark red, while yellow is used for the sleeve cuffs.

The color yellow in particular is on the index for many of the club's fans because of the rivalry with BVB.
