Adidas Al Rihla 2022 World Cup Ball Released
Update: Adidas just officially revealed the brand-new Al Rihla 2022 World Cup football, confirming that it would be available exclusive through Adidas stores until April 12, 2022. The full release, including independent retailers, will therefore take place on April 13.
The Adidas 2022 World Cup ball is called "Al Rihla" (Adidas 2022 World Cup Al Rihla Official Match Ball). Rihla is the Arabic word for a journey or the travelogue that documents it.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to take place in Qatar from 21 November to 18 December 2022.
The Adidas Telstar 18 was the official match ball of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which was held in Russia. It was designed by Adidas, a FIFA Partner and FIFA World Cup official match ball supplier since 1970, and based on the concept of the first Adidas World Cup match ball.

Adidas' 2022 World Cup ball has an all-new panel shape design. The shape of the panels is inspired by traditional dhow boats and specifically the characteristic triangular sails used on them. The ball is made from a total of 20 panels.
The inspiration of the color scheme is NOT the Doha Qatar skyline at night, officially. It is the "colors of the Qatari flag and traditionally white Arab clothes".

One of the main innovations of the ball is Speedshell. Speedshell is aimed to increase the speed of flight and rotation of the ball to achieve excellent aerodynamics and a perfect shot.
Winter Ball
The Adidas 2022 World Cup ball went on sale on Adidas.com on March 30, 2022. It will be available everywhere, including independent retailers, from April 13, 2022.
