Adidas, Nike and Puma 2020 International Kit Launches Indefinitely Postponed Because Of Corona Pandemic?
Update: This week, there should have been the first international FIFA fixtures of the year, including the UEFA EURO 2020 qualifying play-offs. All brands had planed to release the new 2020 national team kits this week - however, no kit has been released yet. It seems like the launch of the 2020 international kits has been postponed, even though no official information was released by any brand yet. Stay tuned for more in the coming days.
Update: UEFA today decided that the UEFA EURO 2020 will be moved to 2021 because of the Coronavirus Pandemic. This decision is quite a hard for the kit brands involved, quite logically.
It is not known yet whether the EURO 2020 kits by Adidas, Nike and Puma will be launched this month or if they will wait. Most official stores of Adidas, Puma and Nike are closed at the moment. Puma originally intended to launch the kits today, Macrh 17.
Some 2020 national team jerseys have been already spotted for sale. However, this does not is a clear indicator that all of the kits will be really launched - there are thousands of independent sport stores worldwide.
Over the past few weeks, the new Adidas, Puma and Nike 2020 national team jerseys got leaked. They have been scheduled to be released in March 2020 already many months ago - but now with the Coronavirus Pandemic, will the brand release their new 2020 national team kits?
On Friday, in light of the current situation concerning the Coronavirus, the Bureau of the FIFA Council has decided that the general football rules which normally oblige clubs to release players for national team matches will not apply for the up-coming international windows in March/April. The qualifying matches for the FIFA World Cup in both Asia and South America have already been postponed.
Puma EURO 2020 Kits Originally Scheduled To Be Launched March 17
Nike is yet to release all of their EURO 2020 and 2020 Copa America jerseys, while Adidas (home) and Puma (away) have already released the first batch of kits last fall. ALL brands did want to release the new 2020 national team jerseys next or the following week.
Adidas, Nike and Puma did not yet comment of how the Corona Pandemic affects the release of the national team jersey.
