Olympique Marseille Announce Uber Eats Kit Sponsor Deal
French Ligue 1 club Olympique de Marseille today announced a strategic and innovative partnership with the international home meal delivery app, Uber Eats, for the next three years.
Just some weeks ago, Uber Eats has officially signed a deal with Professional Football League (LFP) to become the naming rights sponsor of the Ligue 1 from the 2020-2021 season, replacing current sponsor Conforama.
Olympique Marseille And Uber Eats Sign 3-Year Main Sponsor Deal
Uber Eats becomes a primary partner of Olympique de Marseille, through a series of programs, the most significant of which will be the presence of the brand Uber Eats on the front of the First Team jerseys, replacing Orange, which remains a partner of the Club. The deal is valid for three years, until Summer 2022.
Launched in March 2016 in France, the Uber Eats application is now available in 126 French cities and allows the delivery of dishes from more than 15,000 partner restaurants in less than 30 minutes, 7 days a week and with no minimum order. Uber's technology and know-how are at the service of restaurants to simplify meal delivery and bring the best experience to all users.
Jacques-Henri Eyraud, President and Executive Board Member of Olympique de Marseille said, "We welcome Uber Eats with enthusiasm and ambition, eager to combine all our passion, creativity and flexibility with them. At OM, we rely on our partners to grow and progress together, to experience the common emotions that only football can generate.
Uber Eats has a lot in common with OM, including its clear digital orientation, a permanent innovation and the desire to communicate with a young audience. We hope this is the beginning of a long and exciting adventure."
Stéphane Ficaja, Uber Eats General Manager, Western and Southern Europe said, "Football is an event and passion for all generations and is a true love for many French and Uber Eats users, so we are very happy to to associate ourselves with Olympique de Marseille - a passionate, historic and iconic club in France.
Through this partnership, we want to offer new experiences to all fans of football and OM, and be part of their daily lives by signing up for the long term. We warmly thank Olympique de Marseille for choosing us and trusting us to accompany them over the next three years in the internationalization and digitization of the club. We look forward to providing the first activations to fans of the club and football, and to continue this fabulous history at the Orange Velodrome!
This visibility will be effective from the gala match between Olympique Marseille and SSC Napoli, Sunday, 4 August, at the Orange Vélodrome.
The Olympique Marseille 19-20 jerseys with Uber Eats on the front will be available in official stores and on OM.net in early August for the start of Ligue 1.
