As last season, Nike leads with five teams that are also the same as in 2018-19: Wolfsburg, FC Augsburg, Eintracht Frankfurt, Hertha Berlin and RB Leipzig. Three brands share the second place -Puma with Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach, Umbro with Werder Bremen and Schalke 04 and uhlsport with Fortuna Düsseldorf and the promoted FC Köln.
Seven different companies make the jerseys for one team, respectively. Jako (Bayer 04), Saller (Paderborn), Macron (Union Berlin), Joma (Hoffenheim), Lotto (Mainz 05), Hummel (Freiburg) and Adidas who decided since last season to keep in the top category only the most recognized team: Bayern Munich.
It is the second time in history since brands have started to supply teams officially in Germany that Adidas makes the kit for just one team in their 'home country'.
However, if Union Berlin, who gained promotion to the 1. Bundesliga for the first time in their history, will secure their place in the 2019/2020 season, Adidas will at least supply two Bundesliga teams again. Union Berlin will switch from Macron to the Three Stripes brand in 2020.
