Leverkusen '40 Years Bundesliga' Jersey
The new limited-edition Leverkusen '40 Years Bundesliga' shirt is directly based on the original design. The Bayer cross and the '04 Leverkusen' lettering located below it is an exact copy of the that of the promotion season. The collar and the implied V-neck takes its inspiration from the past but a few modern updates have been made to make it more functional.
Both the main sponsor Barmenia Versicherungen and sleeve sponsor Kieser Training have agreed to have their branding removed for the occasion, allowing the kit to be more true to its inspiration. The shirt number on the back uses a traditional font from the seventies.
The special edition jersey is limited to 4,000. Each jersey is also numbered on the inside collar.
