Adidas Sweden 2019 Women's World Cup Kit Features Unique Numbers - All You Need To Know

The Swedish Football Association (Svenska Fotbollsförbundet - SvFF) and Adidas today revealed the new women's national team kit foe the 2019 Women's World Cup. The kit draws inspiration form the Sweden 1994 World Cup kit - but the shirt has another unique feature.

Sweden 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup Jersey - Numbers

The shirt's numbers of the new Sweden 2019 Women's World Cup kit are filled with a collage of pictures with the players along with 48 female role models that the team selected. The new feature is a tribute to the women who, like the national team players, created and created history to pave the way for the future.

The font is the same used in the 2018 FIFA World Cup by Adidas' teams.

The idea behind the new shirt was developed in collaboration with the Swedish Football Association's official shirt supplier, adidas, during the national team's collection in Sheffield in November.

"It is an honor to be involved and build on the success that many fantastic players before me have paved the way for. Having people to look up to and be inspired by has really been crucial to me, both on and off the pitch. So with the platform that the national team is, we want with our idea and the people who are seen on the shirt pay tribute to the pas", says Elin Rubensson, player of the Swedish women's national team.

Photos of 48 women, together with photos of the team players, form a collage that adorns the numbers 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9. The number 8 has been left blank and via the players' Instagram accounts can fans up until Sunday nominate women they would like to see adorn figure 8.

The new national team jersey is available from today.
