Barcelona Rejected White 2020-21 Away Kit Proposed by Nike
On the day of the Clásico, Barcelona-based paper Mundo Deportivo reports that the Catalan club recently rejected a proposal by Nike to have a predominantly white away kit in the season after next, i.e. 2020-21.

The proposed Nike design combines a white base with a red cross, inspired by the St George's Cross, which plays a big role in both the club crest and the Barcelona city flag.
The main reason for that is, of course, that the FC Barcelona's main rival, Real Madrid, wears white.
However, as pointed out by MD, white wasn't all that unusual for Barcelona way back in the day. More recently, however, it wasn't an option at all. Reportedly, the white detailing used by Kappa in the early 1990s was enough to cause controversy, so it's easy to imagine what would happen was the club to present a fully white jersey.
On top of all of that, the design was to have blue and red detailing along the sides on the sleeves and the collar. The shorts and socks would have been white as well.
