Big Surprise and False Boots! EA Sports to Add Next-Gen Nike Hypervenom Phantom 3 Boots to FIFA 17

Update: After there haven't been added any new Nike boots since almost five months to FIFA 17, Nike just totally surprisingly showed a video of FIFA 17 on Instagram featuring Edison Cavani scoring a goal wearing the next-gen Nike Hypervenom Phantom III soccer boots? However, while Cavani even scored two goals for PSG today wearing the high-cut Nike Hypervenom Phantom 3, Nike's FIFA 17 video showcases the striker wearing the false low-cut edition.

There won't be any new Nike soccer boots added to FIFA 17 in the coming months, we can reveal. This means that players can't play with the latest Nike soccer cleats such as the next-generation Nike Hypervenom III in the most popular sports video game until the launch of FIFA 18 in Fall 2017.

Naturally, it isn't a problem for EA Sports to add the latest football boot releases to the game as the publisher regularly demonstrates when they add the latest cleat releases of Adidas, Mizuno and Puma such as the brand-new evoPOWER Vigor. But the case with Nike is very different.

If you didn't know it yet, EA has to sign a contract with each brand in order to be able to put their boots in the game. And even though the Swoosh and EA Sports collaborated earlier this season releasing a stunning limited edition Nike x EA Sports Mercurial Superfly football boot, the contract EA Sports signed with Nike does not allow them to add new colorways to the game this year, as a user in EA Sports forum has learned from an EA vendor. What does this mean for players of the game?

FIFA 17 players will not be able to play with Nike's latest boots until the launch of FIFA 18 unless Nike and EA Sports decide to do a favor for players and add the new cleats to the game.

Do you also despise FIFA and Nike for that as the users of EA's forum do? Do you think that this is a missed opportunity for the Swoosh because they only added one boot after the launch of the game (Nike Hypervenom Neymar x Jordan edition)? Drop us a line below.
