Just 15 Million GBP: Chelsea Announces IFS as New Front-Of-Shirt Sponsor Until End of 25-26 Season
- Sponsorship Deal Value: Chelsea will receive £15 million from IFS for the front-of-shirt sponsorship until the end of the 2025-2026 season, which is significantly less than what other top clubs like Manchester United earn.
- Partnership Details: IFS will be the front-of-shirt sponsor until the end of the 2025-2026 season, after which they will transition to a global sponsor role until 2028, with an additional £3.5 million paid annually for the global partnership.
- IFS and Chelsea's AI Intentions: Chelsea intends to use IFS's AI technology to enhance the precision of its operational activities, indicating the partnership extends beyond mere logo placement.
Update: According to sponsor expert Łukasz Bączek and analysts GlobalData, Chelsea F.C. are set to receive £15m from IFS through the front-of-shirt sponsorship deal running until the end of the season. This is much less than Chelsea hoped for at the start of the season. For example, Manchester United receives £60m per season. In addition, the Swedish firm will pay approximately £3.5m per year over the next two seasons as part of its agreement to serve as the club’s global partner.
Update: Chelsea debuted the new IFS.ai sponsor logo in their 1-1 draw against Burnley. The logo was giant in the match, further disrupting the harmony of the Chelsea 25-26 kit (the golden FIFA badge is bigger than the Chelsea crest, for example).
Chelsea officially announced a new multi-year global partnership with IFS yesterday. The brand will immediately step in as the club's new Principal Partner and take over the highly coveted front-of-shirt sponsorship space.
IFS is a Swedish-founded global enterprise software company providing cloud-based ERP, EAM, and FSM solutions. While the company has included AI and machine learning in its products for several years, it significantly accelerated its focus on AI by launching IFS.ai in 2023
IFS to Feature on Front of Chelsea Shirts for Rest of 25-26 Season
This new agreement brings a fresh look to the Blues' kits for the remainder of the current campaign. Here is the breakdown of the deal:
- Shirt Sponsorship Window: The IFS logo (displayed as "IFS.ai") will be featured prominently on the front of Chelsea's shirts until the end of the current 2025/26 season.
- Transition of Role: Once the 25/26 season concludes, the Swedish company will step away from the front of the shirt and transition into a global sponsor role for the club.
- Total Duration: The initial partnership between the two parties is set to run until 2028.
If this timeline feels familiar, it is because the structure of this deal is very similar to the short-term Damac sponsorship that Chelsea announced last season.
In their official statement, Chelsea highlighted that this partnership goes far beyond a standard commercial logo placement. The club intends to use IFS's market-leading AI agents to drive precision across their operations.
