Jeep & Visit Detroit Closer to Juventus Shirt Sponsorship Deal

  • Potential Joint Sponsorship: Jeep and Visit Detroit are considering a shared sponsorship deal to appear on Juventus shirts.
  • Alternating Brands: The proposed deal would likely see Jeep and Visit Detroit alternating appearances on Juventus men's and women's kits for different matches.
  • Reason for Joint Deal: This arrangement is being explored as neither Jeep nor Visit Detroit could independently meet Juventus' full sponsorship asking price.

Update: Juventus and Jeep are close to a two-year deal worth €45 million a year that will also see the Visit Detroit brand promoted, according to the latest update from @Lu_Class_.

In an unexpected move, Jeep is exploring a return to Juventus FC's shirts through a shared sponsorship arrangement with tourism body Visit Detroit, according to a report by Sports Business (login required).

Juventus to Have Two Different Main Kit Sponsors?

The potential Jeep & Visit Detroit deal would see both brands alternating on Juventus men's and women's team shirts for selected matches, with plans to have the agreement in place before June's FIFA Club World Cup in the USA. Due to competition regulations, only one sponsor could appear during the FIFA Club World Cup.

While Jeep ended its previous €45m-per-season sponsorship last year, this new arrangement would likely come at a reduced cost, with sources suggesting neither partner could meet Juventus' asking price independently. The partnership has a natural connection, as Jeep maintains manufacturing facilities in Detroit, often called 'Motor City' – creating a parallel to Juventus' home in Turin, Italy's automotive hub.

Joint shirt sponsorship models have become increasingly common in Serie A, with Lecce, Cagliari and Udinese all currently displaying two brands on their match shirts. Napoli has also previously employed this approach, demonstrating the financial strategy's growing popularity in Italian football.

The deal faces potential hurdles from global market uncertainty caused by new US tariffs, though sources indicate Jeep may see value in visibly supporting American tourism during this period.

Juventus has been using Save the Children on its men's shirts while seeking a permanent sponsor after previous negotiations with Italian airline Ita Airways reportedly collapsed last summer.
