German third-division side Rot-Weiss Essen has revealed a commemorative shirt honoring the 70th anniversary of its 1955 German championship. The team will wear the special edition shirts during their home match against Hansa Rostock on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at 19:30.

This decision allows the design to more authentically recreate the clean look of the 1955 championship jersey, featuring the iconic red base with a distinctive white V-pattern across the chest.

A truly unique feature of the release is a limited edition version featuring the signatures of the 1955 championship-winning team printed on the back. Only 250 of these special collector's items will be available, creating a direct connection to the players who secured the 4-3 victory against Kaiserslautern in front of 76,000 spectators in Hannover on June 26, 1955.
