Brighton Requests Croatian Club to Stop Using Lookalike Logo
Many years ago we covered some of the many examples of "stolen" logo designs around the globe, and now a similar case has come up in Croatia.
As reported by index.hr, Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion has requested that Jadran-Galeb, a lower-league Croatian football team, change its logo due to its striking similarity to Brighton’s emblem, which also features a seagull. While the letter did not threaten legal action, it firmly requested the logo’s alteration.
The issue came to light after intervention by Croatian football player and lawyer Josip Mađarić, prompting the local football association to remove Jadran-Galeb's logo from official websites.

Jadran-Galeb, formed in 2001 from the merger of two village clubs, NK Jadran (established in 1947) and NK Galeb (established in 1963), uses a logo with a seagull despite neither village being located near the Adriatic Sea or having any connection to the bird. The logo's resemblance to Brighton’s had gone unnoticed until recently.
