Red Bull Takeover: All-New RB Omiya Ardija Logo Revealed
In August 2024, the Energy drinks company Red Bull acquired 100% of shares of the third-division Japanese team Omiya Ardija. Now, Red Bull has launched an all-new logo and other club properties.
The new Red Bull team, Omiya Ardija, is based in Saitama, a city north of Tokyo with over a million inhabitants.
RB Omiya Ardija Announced - New Name & Logo, Club to Keep Orange and Blue Colors
RB Omiya Ardija and Red Bull GmbH hosted a special event, the "Red Bull Omiya Ardija Club Property Announcement," in Tokyo, where the club revealed new branding elements set to take effect in January 2025. The event included the unveiling of the club's new emblem, logo, and other visual elements.
New Club Name
In line with its other clubs, Red Bull has changed the name of Omiya Ardija. The team is now called RB Omiya Ardija. The name does not include the full Red Bull because sponsor names are forbidden in team names in Japan, as is the case in the German Bundesliga, for example (RB Leipzig).
New Club Logo
Unfortunately, the new RB Omiya Ardija logo builds on the silhouette of the other standardized Red Bull football teams, and the Leipzig crest in particular.
The only little difference is the addition of an orange border, the club's classic color.
No New Club Colors?
In contrast to previous takeovers of Red Bull, we might see no change in the navy and orange colors of the Japanese club. In August 2024, Red Bull announced that they "will respect the team name and club colors."
