Hummel Announces Greenland Kit Deal, Replacing Macron

Danish sportswear brand Hummel has signed a four-year agreement with the Football Association of Greenland (Kalaallit Arsaattartut Kattuffiat - KAK), taking over from Macron.

Greenland is not part of the FIFA

Greenland is not part of the FIFA. The island itself is a North American island autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark.

Hummel to Release Bespoke Greenland Kits

Hummel replaces Macron after four years. Macron created a beautiful bespoke kit set for the independent country, and Hummel will continue to provide bespoke kits, as per the press release.

Hummel aims to highlight Greenland's natural and cultural elements in its designs, inspired by the island's vast ice caps and glaciers.

Greenland 2022 Home & Away Kits

“At hummel, we have always had a passion for supporting unique sports teams—and the Football Association of Greenland is a perfect example of a partnership with true character. Greenland is an important part of our Danish Realm, but it also stands as a strong and independent culture that we wish to celebrate and cultivate through our partnership,” said hummel’s CEO, Lars Stentebjerg.
“With 80 percent of the country covered by ice caps and glaciers, Greenland represents something truly unique that you won’t find anywhere else in the world. Despite the challenging conditions for football in Greenland, the national football team remains a vital source of national unity and pride among the country’s inhabitants. We aim to incorporate this into our branding and product design to help tell the story of Greenlandic culture.”This partnership aligns with Greenland's dream of joining Concacaf, which would enable the team to compete in FIFA tournaments. Despite the geographical and climatic challenges, Greenlandic football serves as a source of national pride and unity.

The Hummel Greenland national team jerseys will be released by the end of the year.
