Chelsea FC is reportedly in talks with Qatar Airways to become its new front-of-shirt sponsor. This is reported by Sky Sports Chief Reporter Kaveh Solhekol and quoted with more info by sponsorship insider Łukasz Bączek.
Chelsea in Talks with Qatar Airways & Two Other Airlines About Main Sponsor Deal
Chelsea FC is currently in discussions with Qatar Airways and two other major airlines, apparently Riyadh Air and Turkish Airlines, about securing a front-of-shirt sponsorship deal.
Qatar Airways just replaced Turkish Airlines as UEFA Champions League sponsor in a mega deal
The club has faced challenges in locking down a new sponsor. Chelsea’s absence from the Champions League this season has made negotiations more difficult, as top-tier sponsors often seek visibility in Europe’s premier football competition.
Despite these hurdles, the club remains engaged in talks with these major airlines to secure the right partnership. Qatar Airways, with its recent £70 million-a-year sponsorship deal with UEFA Champions League, is seen as a strong contender. However, Riyadh Air and Turkish Airlines are also in the mix, with Turkish Airlines having nearly secured a deal with Chelsea back in 2015.
