France Wears Nike Football Kits, But Thierry Henry Uses Le Coq Sportif

  • France's Kit Split: The French Olympic football team wears Nike kits for games, but their manager, Thierry Henry, wears Le Coq Sportif as they are the official Olympic outfitter.
  • Varying Olympic Outfits: Many nations have different brand sponsorships for sports kits and general Olympic wear, such as Germany with Adidas and Puma, and Spain with Adidas and Joma.
  • Australia's Uniform Brand: Australia stands out as one of the few nations where a single brand, Asics, provides the complete outfit for their Olympic team.

For the 2024 Olympics, the French national football team faces an interesting situation regarding its sportswear.

2024 Olympics Features Different Brands for Sports & Off-Pitch Activities

While the football kits worn by the players are provided by Nike, the team's manager, Thierry Henry, is seen wearing Le Coq Sportif. This discrepancy arises because Le Coq Sportif is the official French supplier for all sports at the Olympics, providing off-pitch apparel such as training wear and official outfits for interviews and ceremonies. However, Le Coq Sportif does not supply the actual competition kits, which remain under the purview of existing contracts with brands like Nike.

In contrast, Australia is one of the few nations where a single brand, Asics, provides the complete outfit, including football kits.

Similarly to France, Germany uses Adidas as the outfitter for most sports, but other brands like Puma provide specific kits for sports such as handball. The mismatch is seen in handball, where the players wear Puma, but the manager wears Adidas.

For Spain's football team, the mismatch is Adidas (kits) and Joma (Olympics supplier).
