PSG Releases Bizarre AI Images to Celebrate New Home Kit, Including One With Adidas Stripes
Celebrating the launch of the new 24-25 home kit, Paris Saint-Germain created a set of images "created with AI", and the result is less than impressive.
One of the pictures even features Adidas' iconic three stripes on the socks, which prompted the club to delete it shortly after, but thankfully it was saved by @esvaphane.
AI is increasingly being used to cut cost and replace actual artists, but it's still surprising to see PSG acknowledge it this openly. Sharing the collection of pictures on Instagram, the club wrote, "Discover our new Home jersey for the 24/25 season launched with photos of our Parisian players taken using artificial intelligence, a first in the history of the club."
We have compiled some of the 'highlights' below.
AI Marquinhos vs Real Marquinhos
Lucas Hernández's imaginary tattoos
Nike's iconic three stripes
The socks on the picture with Hernández are maybe even funnier. Not only do they feature Adidas-esque three stripes at the top, but they also come with nonsense text below the Swoosh, reading something like "PLCS" on the left and "CR" on the right.
To round it off, the football looks completely messed up as well.
All in all, this is a complete fail by PSG and one can only hope that there is enough of a backlash for other clubs to avoid this in the future.
What are your thoughts? Are you surprised to see these images slip through the club's quality control, especially the one with the Adidas stripes? Comment below.
