Just days after announcing its switch to Hummel, the team donned a jacket reminiscent of the one they wore during the 1992 FA Cup Final. The players wore a pink Nike kit underneath the Hummel gear, which they, of course, later also used for the match.
Football kit deals usually only get active for the new season, so it's something very strange that Sunderland already wore Hummel.

Indeed, the Hummel Sunderland deal will only become active in July 2024, according to the press release. Footy Headlines is pretty sure that Sunderland's outgoing kit partners, Just Sport Group and Nike, gave Sunderland the green light to wear the Hummel gear already.
