To commemorate the 50th anniversary of its European Cup victory, 1. FC Magdeburg has released a special anniversary jersey in the design of its 1974 jersey.

On May 8, 1974, the club achieved its greatest success by winning the European Cup Winners' Cup against AC Milan. This victory still marks them as the only club from former East Germany to win a European title.

Inspired by how the numbers were applied 50 years ago, a blue box adorns the back. "May 8, 1974 in the Kuip of Rotterdam" can be seen on the neck tape, with the words "1. FC Magdeburg - AC Milan 2:0" underneath.
