Aston Villa Football Club wore a special logo in its UEFA Europa Conference League Last-16 tie against AFC Ajax this Thursday. Let us find out why.

Betting Advertising Regulations in The Netherlands: Aston Villa Wears Acorns Charity Logo

Due to Dutch advertising regulations that were introduced in July 2023, Aston Villa was forbidden to wear the logo of its betting sponsor, BK8. Aston Villa decided to put the logo of Acorns, a local children's hospice charity, on the front.

This is not the first time that Acorns will feature on Aston Villa's shirts. They held the club's shirt sponsorship title between 2008 and 2010.

However, the initiative goes beyond just featuring a logo on the shirts. Aston Villa players and management have a tradition of visiting Acorns during the holiday season to spread joy and distribute presents to the children.

The Aston Villa kit with the Acorns logo is not available to buy.
