Inter Miami Hide Main Sponsor on Each Suarez Announcement Picture - Here Is Why
Inter Miami CF, the Major League Soccer (MLS) team, have announced Luis Suarez as their new player yesterday. You might have noticed that the club's current main sponsor, XBTO, is not visible on any striker Luis Suarez announcement picture. Let us find out why.
Royal Caribbean: Inter Miami to Have New Main Sponsor From 1 January 2024
The reason for Inter Miami hiding their current main sponsor is probably that the club's deal with XBTO expires on 31 December 2023, and it has already signed a new sponsorship agreement with Royal Caribbean, which will take effect in 2024.
However, Footy Headlines are still surprised that they do not give any exposure to their current sponsor. The team and the MLS store sell the current Inter Miami XBTO kits with Suarez's name on the back, even though they will be outdated very soon - and Luis Suarez probably will never wear them in a match.
Inter Miami purposely allowed some contracts to expire at the end of 2023 in order to leverage the presence of Lionel Messi. As per industry experts Sportico's estimations, the team's projected revenue for 2022 was $54 million. However, Inter Miami are aiming for a revenue of $200 million in 2024, as stated by Chief Business Officer Xavier Asensi.
Are you surprised that Inter Miami CF sell the kit with the soon-old sponsor but hide it in every announcement picture? Let us know in the comments below.
