No More Nike: Conmebol Announce Puma Deal
Just one day after CAF, Conmebol, the governing body of South American soccer, and Puma, the German sporting goods company, have announced a sponsorship deal.
Puma replace Nike, who had been Conmebol's sponsor for around 20 years.
Conmebol and Puma Sign three-year sponsorship Agreement for South American Soccer
The Puma Conmebol partnership is a three-year agreement for all club and national team matches. It will begin in 2024 and will include the sponsorship of various tournaments such as the Conmebol Copa América, Conmebol Libertadores, and Conmebol Sudamericana. Puma will produce official soccer balls, referee kits, and staff for the tournaments, as well as sports equipment for other sports such as Futsal, Beach Soccer, women's, pre-Olympic and youth categories.

"We are proud to join forces with Conmebol. We want to continue to be protagonists of historic moments in soccer and we believe that this is a unique opportunity to convey our joyful, determined, confident, and courageous way of seeing the sport," said Carlos Laje, Regional Manager of Puma Latin America.
Alejandro Dominguez, President of Conmebol, expressed his pleasure at the association with Puma, stating, "South American soccer is characterized by the talent, passion, and determination of its players. We are sure that Puma also embodies these values."
The partnership between Conmebol and Puma is a significant move that will change the course of South American soccer. With the FOREVER FASTER mantra, the passion and excitement of the sport will continue to awaken the animal instincts of true soccer fans.
