During Champions League matches, we have noticed that the sponsor logo (Teamviewer) on the Manchester United shirt is slightly smaller than on the Premier League shirt. Join us to find out why..
Champions League vs Premier League Manchester United Sponsor Logo Sizes
The Manchester United Champions League kit is identical to the Premier League kit, with the exception of the size of the front-of-shirt sponsorship logo. The Teamviewer sponsor logo on the Manchester United Champions League shirt is slightly smaller than on the Manchester United Premier League shirt.
UEFA Sponsor Size Regulation - 200 cm²
The reason Adidas is because of the difference between the UEFA and FA Equipment Regulations. In article 28.03, UEFA state:
The total area used for sponsor advertising on the front of the shirt must not exceed 200cm², in accordance with the measurement procedures set out in Article 53, and it must be positioned on the front of the shirt, in the center of the torso.
The FA Sponsor Size Regulation - 250 cm²
The reason for the difference in the sponsor logo area is due to the different competition uniform regulations of UEFA and the FA.
In article 1a Sponsor Designations of the 'Guide to the FA kit and advertising regulations', the FA stipulates that:
One single area not exceeding 250 square centimeters on the front of the shirt.
It can be seen that the area of the UEFA sponsor logo is 200 cm² and that of the FA is 250 cm². This results in a slight difference in the sponsor logo on the Manchester United kit when they play in the Champions League and the Premier League.
