Yesterday, Napoli and EA7 unveiled the new home and away kits that the reigning champions of Italy will wear next season. Both designs received a very positive reaction from fans overall, but there was less approval of the €130 price tag for an authentic shirt. A ludicrous amount of money to pay for a football shirt, although incredibly still €20 cheaper than authentic shirts made by Nike and Adidas, who each charge €150 for their own player spec kits.

However, the consternation was tempered somewhat today as replica versions of Napoli's new shirts went on sale for the comparatively low price of €49. This time, EA7 come out much more favourably against the two big boys. Nike replica shirts are priced at €95 while an Adidas replica jersey will cost you €100.
The quality of the EA7 gear was heavily questioned in their first season with Napoli, but now, going into their third campaign as kit maker, things seem to have improved. There are of course differences between the authentic and replica versions, but both appear to be of a very decent standard.

On the authentic version comes with, the all over repeated motif of the club badge is embossed onto the shirt, while it's sublimated on the replica. The Scudetto badge also has a textured, finish on the authentic, which the replica shirt does not share. In terms of material and fit, the authentic has "Dry Touch" technology and is a blend of polyester and elastane, giving it a slim fit. The replica is made from 100% polyester and has a more standard fit.

Close-up photos of the replica are not yet available for closer inspection, but these differences seem minimal, making the sublimated alternatives a very acceptable trade-off for the €81 of savings.

The 2026 World Cup referee shirts feature one of the most amusing and strategic sponsorship placements seen in football. Deodorant brand Rexona has their logo positioned directly under the armpits of the match officials' jerseys, creating a highly contextual advertising opportunity.
The Rexona logo remains largely hidden during regular play but becomes clearly visible whenever a referee raises their arms to signal a free kick, award a penalty, or issue a card. This placement perfectly matches the deodorant product being advertised, resulting in a memorable piece of marketing on the sport's biggest stage.
While this specific placement has caught the attention of fans during the 2026 tournament, it is not entirely unprecedented. A similar concept was previously executed in Brazil, where Avanço deodorant sponsored the armpits of Corinthians. However, Rexona's execution at a World Cup brings the clever concept to a massive global audience.

Saudi Pro League club Al Qadsiah has officially unveiled its new 2026-27 home and away kits, marking the beginning of their new partnership with adidas after switching from previous supplier Nike.
