The General Directorate of Customs in Argentina confiscated around 300 counterfeit football jerseys, including Argentina’s National Team World Cup Winner 3-star kits.

According to Tyc Sports, the counterfeit jerseys were being brought in illegally by a passenger from Peru who was carrying four large suitcases. Following regular checks, the customs at Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aries grew suspicious and eventually decided to seize the suspicious passenger’s bags.

Further checks discovered that there were at least 302 football jerseys and aside from Argentina’s World Cup winner kits, there are also Brazil, Poland, and Barcelona shirts. Considering the amount and variety of those football shirts, the Ezeiza airport’s customs believe that those jerseys are meant for commercial purposes. The estimation of the total worth of those jerseys is around 6 million pesos or approximately €28.455.

Meanwhile, the passenger who tried to get the counterfeit into Argentina is not only losing his products but could also get an 18m pesos fine for his trouble.
