Adidas Ajax 2023 Retro Shirt & Collection Released
Confirming the previous leak, Ajax and Adidas Originals' retro collection to celebrate the 50-year anniversary of the club's special treble in 1973 has been released. It is a lifestyle-only collection and won't be worn in an official match, but we might see it for warm-up.
The new Adidas Originals Ajax collection celebrates the 50-years anniversary of Ajax's third European Cup title (now Champions League) won in 1973. Ajax featuring the famous Johann Cryuff won the European Cup three times in a row - 1971, 1972, and 1973.

The Adidas Originals Ajax 2023 retro football shirt is inspired by the classic Ajax kits of the 1970s, when the club had the most successful era in their history, and the Le Coq Sportif 1973-1977 kit in particular.
Ajax won the current "Champions League" three times in a row in the early 1970s
The Ajax Adidas Originals Ajax jersey puts the classic head of the Greek hero Ajax in the center. The Adidas Trefoil logo is placed on the right chest.
Apart from the logos, the Ajax Adidas Originals retro kit is more or less the same as the Ajax kits from the 1970s.
Adidas never sponsored Ajax before 2000
Oddly, Adidas never sponsored Ajax before 2000. Their kits were first made in-house, by Le Coq Sportif, and Puma in the 1970s.
Tech-wise, the Ajax Adidas OG jersey is made from 52% recycled polyester, and 48% cotton double knit.
Other Adidas Originals Ajax OG Collection
Slightly different from the leak, Adidas are not only releasing a retro jersey but also two t-shirts, a track jacket, pants plus a hoodie, and a samba shoe.
In terms of design, the Adidas Originals Ajax retro items come with the classic Ajax crest, the Trefoil logo as well as the XXX signoff, inspired by the Amsterdam city coat of arms.
