Werder Bremen to Have New Shirt Sponsor
Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen will have a new shirt sponsor starting next season as their 11-year deal with PHW Group comes to an end.
This current season will be the last time that Bremen’s fans will be seeing PHW’s brands such as WIESENHOF and GREEN LEGEND again.
PHW Group's Brands End Shirt Sponsor Deal With Bremen
According to the club’s official statement, after spending 11 years together, the time has come for them to find a new shirt partner. Bremen are grateful for their strong partnership, but both parties are not completely parting ways.
PHW will remain one of The Green-Whites' partners, but on a smaller scale, no longer serving as their main shirt sponsor.
The end of PHW Group's brands being Bremen’s shirt sponsor might actually excite some of the club’s fans. The Green-Whites’ decision of collaborating with the famous German-based poultry company received negative voices from some of the supporters, especially the first time the deal happened in 2012.
Werder Bremen Kit History With PHW Group's Brands as Shirt Sponsor
Bremen’s CEO, Klaus Filbry also confirmed that the club will be getting a new sponsor as they are currently in talks with potential candidates. However, there’s still no final agreement just yet but the Bundesliga side are confident that they will get a worthy shirt deal sometime soon.
“We have found ourselves in good talks with potential candidates from some time and are very optimistic that we will be able to announce a conclusion shortly
“We have found ourselves in good talks with potential candidates from some time and are very optimistic that we will be able to announce a conclusion shortly that will put us in a good position in terms of main and shirt sponsor for the next few years,” Filbry revealed.
Aside from getting a new shirt sponsor, in the future, Bremen could reportedly sign with a new kit manufacturer once their current deal with Umbro ends after the 2024/25 season. We previously reported that The Green-Whites might return with Hummel.
Werder to Sign With Hummel
As we reported some time ago, Umbro have signalled to Werder that they do not intend on extending their partnership beyond 2025. This means Bremen are currently searching for potential replacements.
