Red Star Wear Kit With Gold Badge to Honor Mihajlovic
Serbian outfit, Red Star Belgrade (Cverna Zvezda) pay a moving tribute to their former star player, Sinisa Mihajlovic this past weekend. In their latest league game against Vojvodina at home, The Red-Whites wear a kit with gold badge.
Red Star and Vojvodina Wear Kits With Gold Badges
Red Star are not the only team that decided to wear special jerseys with gold badge placed in the center of their shirt as their opponent, Vojvodina also did the same. The badge also have a picture of Mihajlovic, who has played with both clubs in the past. Although the gold patches are quite similar there's a difference in terms of shapes.
There weren’t many changes done with The Red-Whites’ jersey apart from placing the badge in the front of their shirt and in between the crests and technical sponsors' logo. The same also goes for their opponent, Vojvodina, who were playing with their away jersey in that game.
The former defender turn coach passed away due to cancer back in December last year, but at that time the Serbian SuperLiga was still on a winter break. They only returned to action this past weekend, so Red Star took the opportunity to remember their former star in front of their home crowd.
Mihajlovic a Key Figure for Red Stad and Vojvodina
Mihajlovic is certainly an important figure in both Red Star and Vojvodina history despite only playing two seasons with each club. He won league titles for both clubs but had something more with the former as he was part of their Champions League-winning side in 1991.
Miha played in Vojvodina from 1988 to 1990 before switching to Red Star and playing for them from 1990-1992. He then made his way to Serie A where he spent most of his playing and coaching career.

The special shirt has the engraving of Vialli and Mihajlovic's initials along with the eternity sign in between. The Luca and Sinisa engraving was placed inside the match jersey's collar.
Aside from the special jersey, Red Star also showcase more moving stuff to remember Mihajlvoic, such as fans' choreography and memorabilia of his shirt number during his time at the club.
