PSG Wear Interesting New Kit Combination

In last night's loss away to RC Lens (3-1), PSG wore an unusual variation of their 2022-23 kits.

PSG Combine Home Shirt With White Shorts and Socks

Here is the outfit PSG wore last night against the gold and black Lens players.

PSG decided to go for a unique look, making use of their home shirt, but being forced to combine it with, in this case, white shorts and socks.

It seems the all-white third outfit would also have done the job, however, PSG seem to have gone out of their way to wear their navy home shirts. This is something rarely seen among major clubs nowadays.

This hints at a slight problem with today's yearly kit releases. It has become quite rare that the styles of the home, away and third kits (colors, etc.) match one another, which would better enable mash-ups.

One-Off Shorts

The shorts worn last night were actually not the third kit ones, since these have a monochrome blue Paris St. Germain crest matching the one on the third shirt.

Yesterday's one-off shorts are white with a blue Swoosh and the regular PSG crest, making sure to be in line with the home jersey. In fact, this is the only difference, as even the same triangular blue side-insets are kept.

Meanwhile the socks used were the regular third socks, as these nearly perfectly match the style of the outfit. The only grievance is that the shorts and socks feature royal blue rather than navy.

PSG are generally no strangers to mashing up various kits in Ligue 1. For example, they combined their 21-22 fourth shirt with home shirts last season against Strasbourg. This combination worked perfectly.

Do you like the combination of PSG's home and third outfits? Is it worth wearing the home shirt whenever possible, even when it has to be combined with other unintended shorts and socks? Comment below.
