Lionel Scaloni Wears Classic Argentina Away Kit for World Cup Celebrations
Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni pulled on one of his old Argentina shirts to lift the World Cup trophy on Sunday night.

Players celebrating trophy wins in classic football shirts has become something of a trend recently, as Hector Bellerin and his former teammates at Real Betis can attest. Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni brought a very special shirt from his own playing career along to the most thrilling World Cup final of all time and got the chance to wear it after his side came out on top.
You may recognise Scaloni's jersey as the one worn by Diego Maradona and Argentina at the 1994 World Cup, but it was actually used all the way up until 1998. In 1997, Scaloni was part of the Argentina team that won the U20 World Championship (now called U20 World Cup), alongside Esteban Cambiasso, Juan Roman Riquelme, Walter Samuel and Pablo Aimar.
Scaloni lifted that trophy in the number 18 shirt and last night he held the biggest prize in international football while wearing the same jersey. He also changed into an Argentina top to celebrate their Copa America victory last year but it was the same as those that his players had worn at the tournament. He must have been saving his 1997 one for the big 25th anniversary.
