The Adidas Japan 2022 World Cup football kits were surely well received. Will Adidas continue to supply the national team's kits after the 2022 World Cup?

Japan have had Adidas kits since 1999

The last time we reported about the Adidas x Japan partnership was in 2014, when Adidas and Japan announced a contract extension until December 2022, ending with the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Since then, there have been no reports on the Adidas Japan kit deal in any foreign media...

When searching for the Adidas and Japan kit deal in Japanese, we quickly found out that there is good news for all who like Adidas' Japan kits. The Three Stripes will continue to make Japan's kits beyond 2022.

Lenght & Value Unknown: Adidas x Japan Announced New Agreement From 2023

On January 17, 2021, the Japan Football Association (JFA) and Adidas Japan K.K. announced that they have reached a basic agreement on the "Official Supplier of the Japan Football Association" contract from 2023.

Even the length of the deal is not known, but it should include the 2026 World Cup

The JFA have had an Official Supplier Agreement with Adidas Japan since 1999, and in addition to the Japanese national soccer teams in all age groups for both men and women.

Neither the length nor the value of the Adidas Japan kit deal is known. We expect the agreement to be valid until at least the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and possibly also for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

"We are very pleased to have reached a basic agreement with adidas Japan K.K. to become the Official Supplier of the Japan Football Association from 2023 onwards. From 2023, adidas Japan will support not only the national team in each category, but also the development of Japanese soccer as a whole, including the development and strengthening of players who will lead the next generation of Japanese soccer, training of human resources such as coaches and referees, various domestic tournaments, grassroots, and more."

Could Adidas release a new Japan kit in 2023?

It remains to be seen if Adidas will launch a new Japan kit in 2023. With the 2023 AFC Asian Cup taking place next summer, it appears possible that we will see at least one new Japan kit from Adidas in 2023.
