Umbro Tease Panini Collaboration
Umbro Brasil have shared an image on their Twitter account hinting at a collaboration between themselves and sticker company, Panini.
Umbro Tease Panini Collaboration
The Panini company dates back to 1961, when it was formed in Modena, Italy by the Panini brothers. A publishing company who also produce stickers and collectibles, they struck a deal with FIFA to produce stickers for the 1970 World Cup and the rest is history. Their back catalogue is literally an archive of football history and a well of nostalgia for many football fans.
Umbro are of course a historical brand in the sport, having been around for a long time and appearing in many Panini stickers themselves. The two brands have plenty of heritage between them so the collaboration should produce some solid results.
They have only shared one image for now, with a pile of hand drawn Panini stickers visible within the Umbro logo. The flags on show, and of course the timing of the announcement suggest a World Cup theme. The fact that it was shared only by the @UmbroBrasil page may mean there will be a tie-in with their Brazilian clubs, with whom they recently released a set of international-inspired "Nations 2022" kits.
The tweet says that a "bundle" will be arriving, so likely a collection of many pieces. More info should be available soon, so stay tuned for updates.
