Ajax 22-23 Home Kit Features Gold Numbers, And Their Fans Hate It
In early August 2022, the 22-23 Eredivisie season will kick off. Reigning champions Ajax will wear a never-used-before yet unpopular font color with their Adidas 2022-2023 home kit.

The Ajax Amsterdam 22-23 home kit font is gold for the first time in history. This is inspired by the golden detailing of the shirt, visible on the collar, sleeve cuffs and the logo borders.
Fans compared it to McDonald's
Many of Ajax's fans were not happy with the typeface when the kit was released, comparing it to McDonald's. However, it only looked that yellow on the online store pictures but not in real life.
The numbers were just vertically stretched
We created an Ajax 22-23 home kit concept with all-golden logos to fit the numbers, as well as concept numbers that better fit the kit - white with a golden border.
Our fix for the numbers replaces the all-gold color with white/gold.

In terms of the font used, Ajax's 22-23 kit font is also not optimal. While the typeface itself is classic, the club made a cheap edit. They just vertically stretched the font, as observed by football font specialists @sportsfonts_com.
