Stüssy x PSG Collaboration: The Laziest One Yet?

Stüssy have collaborated with PSG on a football jersey celebrating the opening of their new flagship store. They join the likes of BAPE, Colette, Dior and of course Jordan, as well as many other brands on French club's ever-lengthening list of partnerships and fashion crossovers.

The jersey itself is not exactly a new creation, in fact it is the Parisians’ home shirt from the 20/21 season, but with added Stüssy branding on the back and sleeves. This move was likely made possible thanks to Stüssy’s relationship with Nike. The two have a longstanding history, with the first joint release happening way back in 2001 with 2 Dunk High shoe models. Since then, there has been a steady stream of releases made up of both footwear and clothing. In fact, Stüssy were the first clothing company that Nike ever collaborated with. How times have changed.

The shirt comes with all sponsor logos intact, with a small Stüssy logo emblazoned on the right sleeve and a larger design on the back. The address of PSG’s new flagship store is also incorporated into the design on the back: 44 rue du Temple, 75004, Paris, France.

The new Stüssy x Nike PSG jersey will be available exclusively in PSG's flagship store from February 18. It is highly unlikely that the jersey will be worn in any match, but it will surely sell out quickly nonetheless, given the status that Stüssy has among streetwear fans.

What do you think of Stüssy and Nike recycling last year’s kit like this? How does this effort compare to the many other PSG fashion and streetwear collaborations?
