Confirmed: No Serie A Player Wears Special Kit Badge In 2022
Update: As predicted by us, Dušan Vlahović did not use the special gold badge that honors his 2021-22 Best Young Player award. This means that none of the six possible players is wearing the special gold Serie A kit badge now.
Dušan Vlahović Wears No Gold Badge For Juventus
For the 2021-22 season, Serie A introduced a redesigned kit badge for the best players of the previous season. Now in 2022, not a single Serie A player could use it.
The Serie A Awards and the special badge were launched ahead of the 2019-2020 season. They are awarded by the Lega Serie A to the best footballers of each Italian football season. The Serie A Awards are awarded under the categories of Best Goalkeeper, Best Defender, Best Midfielder, Best Striker, Best Young Player (Under-23), and Most Valuable Player.

Serie A released a newly designed best player badge ahead of the current 2021-22 season. It ditches the blue elements and changes a few elements of the previous one.
No Player to Wear Serie A Kit Badge in 2022?
In the 2021-2022 season, a maximum of six players could wear the badge. However, not a single player could actually wear it now.
2020-21 Serie A Best Players - Supposed to Wear Kit Badge:
- BEST UNDER 23: Dusan Vlahovic (Fiorentina)
- BEST GOALKEEPER: Gianluigi Donnarumma (Milan)
- BEST DEFENDER: Cristian Romero (Atalanta)
- BEST MIDFIELD: Nicolò Barella (Inter)
- BEST STRIKER: Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus)
- MVP - BEST OVERALL: Romelu Lukaku (Inter)
The Best Goalkeeper, Defender, Striker, and MVP are not playing in the Serie A anymore (Gianluigi Donnarumma, Cristian Romero, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Romelu Lukaku) .
The Best Midfielder, Nicolò Barella, has only worn the special gold badge in the first match of the season (and this despite Inter announcing he would wear it for the whole season on their website).

Best Under-23 player and new Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic has been the only player to wear the kit badge so far, playing for Fiorentina. However, pictures of his presentation with the Juventus kit lack the gold badge.
