Manchester United Terminate Aeroflot Sponsorship Following Russia's Invasion of Ukraine
Manchester United have announced that they've ended their sponsorship deal with airline Aeroflot following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Already earlier this week it was reported that United switched from their scheduled Aeroflot flight to Madrid for the Champions League clash at Atlético and took a chartered plane instead.
“In light of events in Ukraine, we have withdrawn Aeroflot’s sponsorship rights. We share the concerns of our fans around the world and extend our sympathies to those affected.” - Manchester United statement.
Aeroflot page on Manchester United website, now taken down
Today's announcement, which coincides with Aeroflot's sponsorship page on the Manchester United website being taken down, follows the UK's announcement of sanctions on the company, preventing it from operating in the country.
